Galaxy S3 | Unable to Transfer Phonebook

Gloria Davis — Feb 05, 2015 04:14PM AEDT

Caller name is not being announced. I have paired and unpaired and reset the device, but it still does not announce the name. The device indicated phonebook contacts have been transferred and I accepted. Has anyone else had this problem as I need a solution.

Hi Gloria,

Thank you for posting your enquiry.

Although your headset may announce that the “transfer was complete”, it can also mean that it was only able to transferred 5 of 30 contacts. In some instances, it could even be 0 of 50 contact. The Q2 is designed to accept and save phone numbers into it’s memory and is limited to 2000 phone numbers (not 2000 contacts)
When this data passes over from the phone to the headset, the information stored in this data must be in a format that the headset can understand. This is also related to the way your contacts were initially sync’d to the phone and the location where it was saved.

• We also suggest that you isolate your contact list by saving it to both your Google/Samsung account and to a memory card as well.

• Then, remove both your Google/Samsung accounts from your phone so that you are left with only the contacts that were saved on your phone memory.
If you have a land-line that you can use to test this with, then we recommend to save this land-line number to your phone’s memory.and name it “Home”.

• Delete the currently pairing information from your phone and then reset your Q2 headset. Click HERE for Q2 reset instructions.

• Pair your Q2 back to your phone and ensure that you click “ACCEPT/OK” immediately once the phone prompts to allow phone transfer.

Once it’s connected, make a test call to your cellphone using your land-line to see if your headset announce’s the caller’s name.

Please let us know if you still cannot get this to work correctly,

Thank you.

3. Say the command: “Phone Commands”
4. Wait for the beep or voice prompt
