Samsung Galaxy S3 | Connection Problems

Has anyone had problems pairing the BlueAnt Q2 headset with the Samsung Galaxy S3 android phone? Neither the phone nor the Bluetooth headset recognize or connect with the other. I've had several of these headsets and never had this problem before. This is a new headset and I'm trying to get it going for the first time.

Have you tried resetting the headset?

Please remember to reboot your phone as well before attempting to pair your device back to your phone

Thank you Alan. Apparently that was the problem. I followed your link, reset the headset and it went into pairing mode and paired successfully. I'm glad that it's working but wonder 'why' it had to be reset. I would think that if it is really a 'new' device, that I shouldn't have had to reset anything. I guess I'm just wondering if the device really is 'new' as stated or possibly refurbished. Do you have any insight on that? Thanks again for your help in getting the headset working.

Not a problem Linda, we’re glad to hear that you got it working again.

All products are usually tested prior to being released into the market. When you first open the package, it should (ideally) go straight into pairing mode so that you can simply pair it up to your phone on the first attempt. In this case, there may be a chance that the headset may not have been reset after it passed through quality control. In some cases, our distributors or even resellers may also double check them twice, in the attempt to minimise product defects and returns.
